- DATE: July 8 and 10, 2026
- TIME: 2-4 PM, 4-6 PM
- WHAT: The trailhead for Rock Canyon Trail is about 1.3 miles from the BYU Conference Center. Each group will take a van from the conference center to the trailhead and hike up the canyon. A geologist will point out and explain many of the stunning geologic features that record 800 million years of Earth history! The hike is not very strenuous, but bring good shoes and water. Here is a virtual field trip of Rock Canyon you can look at, but it is much better in person–and you can ask questions. If the scheduled trips are full, feel free to make your own group, walk up to the trailhead, and take the hike.
