Air Travel
To get to the venue in Provo, Utah, USA, you will fly into the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Check with your airline to see if there are any mask requirements in any of the aircraft or airports you will visit. At the moment, there are no such requirements at airports in the USA, but the Centers for Disease Control does recommend wearing a mask.
Visa
It is strongly recommended that international participants apply for visas at least several months prior to the meeting. Note: Some consulates may have delays in scheduling visa interviews; therefore, applicants should first contact the consulate to determine the wait time for an interview. An interview appointment is required for a visa application at all embassies and consulate (https://www.usembassy.gov/).
Letters of Invitation for Visa
Any person traveling to the United States who requires a passport or invitation letter should check with the appropriate Embassy to determine exactly what is necessary to permit travel to the U.S.A. A member of the Organizing Committee will be pleased to send to the participant an invitation letter upon request, as long as that person has submitted an acceptable abstract for their presentation at the conference. Please note that we cannot provide letters of invitation to spouses, children, or others who will be accompanying you on the trip but not attending the Meeting as registered attendees. The invitation letter should only be intended as a help to get funds, not as a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support.
Preparing to Attend the Meeting
After you complete the visa application process, use our meeting website to register, please start to plan your travel, reserve your hotel room, etc. To save money and assure you receive proper accommodations, we strongly recommend that you register for the meeting before the deadlines.
Health and Insurance
The registration fees do not include insurance. It is recommended that all registrants consult their travel agent and take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the meeting. The Organizing Committee cannot accept responsibility for uninsured participants.
Currency and Taxes
All transactions are based on US currency (dollars and cents). Denominations are $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100. Coins are 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 cents. There are several branches of US Banks in Provo; however, it is recommended that foreign currency be exchanged at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) before arriving.
